News Busters! is making a comeback to the community, with its signature dose of satirical humour!
Conceptualised by Li Xie and co-devised by Tay Kong Hui, Koh Hui Ling and Epin Chia, Doreen Toh and Neo Hai Bin, "News Busters!" is the first "mockumentary theatre" ever created and performed in Singapore.
Combining elements of Italian Commedia Dell'arte, variety shows and family soap operas, the performance caricatures current events that affect the people of Singapore, making sure you never read news headlines the same way again!

About Li Xie
Li Xie performs, writes, directs and teaches. She has undergone training in Vsevolod Meyerhold’s Biomechanics by Gennadi Bogdanov (Russia). Her directorial works include The Magnanimous Cuckold, House of Sins, one-woman performance The vaginaLOGUE and the restaging of the late Kuo Pao Kun’s Little White Sailing Boat at the Singapore Arts Festival 2007. In 2004, she created the first mockumentary news theatre News Busters!. As an actor she has been seen in Happy, A Stranger at Home and Temple. She was awarded the Young Artist Award by National Arts Council (Singapore) in 2005.
About Tay Kong Hui
Kong Hui is a media and theatre practitioner. He has performed in plays such as HERstory (Singapore Arts Festival 2011), The Magnanimous Cuckold, The Coffin is Too Big for the Hole (Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2010) and House of Sins.
