A little girl is digging a hole in the ground, waiting to bury her head once the hole is deep enough.

In today’s fast-paced and competitive society, more and more of our youths, who are still finding their way in life, are suffering from stress related disorders.

Girl in the White Sand Box is a theatre performance that discusses with the audience the difficult topic of adolescent depression. Students will also be engaged through interactive pre and post-show activities to develop their capabilities for self-reflection and critical thinking in Mandarin. We hope that through this performance, students are empowered to take positive steps when facing emotional difficulties.

*Girl in the White Sand Box was first staged in 2011, and again in 2012, to much acclaim.
