SCENES is a five-part project that celebrates the triumphs of Singapore’s Chinese language theatre from the 1920s to 2009 with The Performances, The Symposium, The Exhibition, Fresh Takes and The Dramatised Readings. With more than 80 years in existence, Singapore’s Chinese language theatre has truly constituted an important part of our cultural landscape, reflecting the changing identity of Chinese here, and constantly evolving in its aesthetics and relevance.
