Who We Are
Drama Box is a non-profit contemporary Mandarin theatre company with charity status. Formed in 1990, it has since gained a respectable reputation for its acute sensitivity and perception in heightening social awareness and civic responsibility. Our productions remain fun and entertaining, yet thought provoking and reflective.
In creating a theatre that is essentially about life, Drama Box’s mission is to be a contemporary Mandarin theatre company that liberates life!
In its 20th year and beyond, Drama Box hopes to continue creating theatrical experiences that mirror our social fabric, while engaging its audience with theatre that blurs the boundaries between audience and performer and developing in its audience an appreciation of theatre as an effective and affective language of engagement.

Dear friends,
This year marks 20 years since the inception of Drama Box. Recounting the years past, our theatre group has weathered many ups and downs, and the very reason we have made it this far is the kind support we’ve received, in one way or another, from each and every one of you. Thank you very much for your firm support and belief in our mission, and in our relentless dedication to creating theatre that liberates life!
